Reference Tools

1. Present the University ID to the Entrance  Attendant for proper identification and barcode scanning. NO ID means NO ENTRY.

2. For security reasons, bags and other belongings must be depo-sited in the deposit counter.

3. Readers are required to present their I.D. every time they borrow books, especially materials that are on the closed-shelf.

4. Readers shall not write on, mark, mutilate pages and in any way damage any material and other facilities belonging to the Library.

5. Readers are required to leave the books on the table after using for purposes of utilization report.

6. Readers shall observe proper decorum at all times.

7. Readers shall also observe cleanliness within the library premises.

8. Eating and smoking shall be strictly prohibited within the library premises.

9. Readers shall push the chairs against the table after using.

10. Upon leaving the library, users shall be requested to present their carried belongings to the Exit Attendant for inspection.

Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives

Vision

The University Library is geared towards a responsible and excellent service as a dynamic support unit in the attainment of the goals and objectives of the Mindanao State University, General Santos.  



Mission

It is the mission of the MSU-General Santos Library to support the needs of the students and the community by providing efficient and effective service delivery with utmost professionalism.


Objectives

1. The basic objective of the MSU-GSC Library is to play its full part in supporting the instructional program of the university:

2. To secure, organize and service books, periodicals, documents and other non-print materials used in the instructional and research program of the institutions;

3. To provide the physical facilities and equipment that will make possible the most effective use of the library resources;

4. To instruct the clientele in the effective and judicious use of the library;

5. To encourage the students to develop the habit of self-education in order that books and libraries may contribute to their intellectual development in future years;

6. To encourage extracurricular  use of library materials;

7. To assist and cooperate with faculty member in their instructional and research program;

8. To cooperate with other libraries in the community and in the country at large for purposes of inter-library cooperative endeavors

Goals

1. To develop and manage the collections that are relevant to curricular offering of the school.

2. To organize for use, store and preserve information in any format to support the instructional and research activities.

3. To provide reference and information services to meet the information needs of the library clientele.

4. To provide access to information through printed and electronic resources.

5. To increase the level of funding available in the library by participating in fund raising and grant-seeking activities.

6. To employ, develop and retain qualified and service-oriented staff who are capable individually and collectively of achieving the goals and objectives.
